Privacy Policy

1. Who we are and what this covers

ReferADriver (“ReferADriver,” “we,” “us”) runs a website where truck drivers share information about job openings at the companies they work for, and other drivers find those jobs and apply using the posting driver as their referral.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information through our website and related emails and forms (the “Site”). “Personal information” means information that identifies, relates to, or could reasonably be linked to you. It applies to everyone who uses the Site, whether or not you create an account, and it is part of our Terms of Service.

This policy does not cover what Employers, other users, or third-party websites do with information you give them directly (for example, when you apply on an Employer's website or message a Poster). Their own policies apply.

ReferADriver is not an employer, recruiter, or staffing agency, and we don't pay referral bonuses.

2. Information we collect

We collect only what we reasonably need to run the Site.

Information you give us

Information collected automatically

Information from others

You can browse and search jobs without an account and without giving us any personal information beyond the device and usage data above.

3. Sensitive information

We do not ask for, and you should not send us or post, Social Security numbers, driver's license or other government ID numbers, bank account or full card numbers, medical information, or similar sensitive information. Before uploading any photo or document, black out your Social Security number, employee ID, bank details, home address, and anything else sensitive. If we find sensitive information you didn't need to share, we may delete or hide it.

The only sensitive information we routinely handle is your account login (email and password), which we use only to provide your account.

4. How we use information

We use personal information only for these purposes:

We won't use your personal information for a purpose that is materially different from these without telling you first and, where the law requires, getting your consent. We may create aggregated or de-identified information that can't reasonably identify you; we won't try to re-identify it.

5. What's shown publicly

Job posts are public. Anyone visiting the Site can see a post's job details and:

The email address and phone number you enter under Personal Details are never shown on your post. Drivers contact you through the “Talk to” message form instead (see section 9).

Information you make public can be seen, copied, or saved by others, and we can't control what they do with it. Only share what you're comfortable having public.

6. How we share information

We share personal information only in these situations:

Between drivers and Posters: when a driver sends a message through a job post, we deliver it, including the driver’s email address, to the Poster by email so the Poster can reply directly. A Poster’s email address is shared with our form provider (Formspree) to receive these messages; the driver sees the Poster’s email address only if the Poster replies.

We do not give Employers your personal information unless you ask us to or the safety and legal exceptions above apply.

7. Sale, sharing & targeted advertising

We do not sell personal information for money. We do not rent or trade email lists, and we do not use personal information for profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

Google Ads tag. We use the Google tag, a small piece of code from Google LLC, to measure how our Google and YouTube ads perform (for example, how many people who tap an ad visit the Site or start a post), and Google may use it to help show our ads to people who have visited the Site. It can collect information such as pages viewed, actions taken on the Site, IP address, browser and device information, and cookie identifiers, and send it to Google, which uses it as described in Google’s Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites that use its services. We don’t send Google your name, email address, phone number, or job post answers. Under some state privacy laws, including California’s, this may be considered “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. The Google tag doesn’t load for visitors who opt out below or whose browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal. You can also manage how Google personalizes ads for you at Google My Ad Center. We don’t use any other advertising pixels on the Site.

Past use of the Meta Pixel. Before October 12, 2026, we used the Meta Pixel, a small piece of code from Meta Platforms, Inc. (the company behind Facebook and Instagram), to measure our ads. For visitors who hadn’t opted out, it could collect information such as pages viewed, certain actions taken (for example, starting or publishing a post), IP address, browser and device information, and cookie identifiers, and send it to Meta, which may use it as described in Meta’s Privacy Policy. We never sent names, email addresses, phone numbers, or job post answers to Meta. We removed the Meta Pixel from the Site on October 12, 2026.

Under some state privacy laws, including California’s, that past use may have been considered “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You always have the right to opt out of sharing.

8. Cookies, analytics & browser signals

9. Emails and messages

10. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes in this policy:

When we no longer need information, we delete it or de-identify it. Copies in routine backups are deleted as those backups cycle out.

11. Security and breaches

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the information we hold, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, reputable service providers for payments and forms, limited access to personal information, and protected storage of passwords. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security. If a security breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and any required authorities as the law requires. Please use a strong, unique password and tell us right away if you think your account has been compromised.

12. Your rights and choices

Wherever you live, you can email [email protected] to:

Verification: to protect your information, we'll confirm your identity before acting, usually by asking you to reply from the email address on your account. We'll ask only for information needed to verify you and use it only for that purpose.

Timing: we'll confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 days. If we need more time (up to another 45 days, where the law allows), we'll tell you why.

Limits: we may keep information when the law requires or allows it, for example payment records, information needed to prevent fraud or enforce our Terms, or information about a dispute. If we can't fully honor a request, we'll explain why.

We will never charge you, deny service, or treat you differently for exercising your privacy rights.

13. State privacy rights (including California)

Residents of California and certain other states (such as Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and others with similar laws) have specific rights under their state privacy laws. We extend the rights below to all U.S. users, whether or not a particular law applies to us.

California details

In the past 12 months we have collected these categories of personal information: identifiers (name, email, phone, IP address, account login); customer records (billing details processed through Stripe); commercial information (Membership purchases); internet or network activity (site usage data); approximate geolocation; audio, electronic, or visual information (photos you upload); professional or employment-related information (job post details and your employer); and sensitive personal information limited to account login credentials. We collect these from you, your device, and our service providers, for the purposes in section 4, and disclose them for business purposes only to the recipients in section 6. We keep them for the periods in section 10. We do not sell personal information. Until October 12, 2026, we shared identifiers (such as IP address and cookie identifiers) and internet or network activity (such as pages viewed and actions taken on the Site) with Meta for cross-context behavioral advertising through the Meta Pixel, as described in section 7; we no longer do. We have no actual knowledge of selling or sharing the personal information of anyone under 16.

Shine the Light: we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.

How to make a request: email [email protected] with the subject “Privacy Request” and say which right you're using. An authorized agent may make a request for you with your signed permission; we may ask you to verify your identity directly.

14. Children

The Site is only for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it. If you believe a minor has given us personal information, contact us at [email protected].

15. Where information is stored

The Site is operated from the United States and intended for U.S. users. Your information is stored and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in other countries. If you use the Site from outside the U.S., you do so on your own initiative.

17. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We'll post the new version with a new effective date. If we make a material change, especially one that changes how we use or share information you already gave us, we'll notify account holders by email or a notice on the Site before it takes effect, and get your consent where the law requires it.

18. Contact us

Privacy questions or requests: [email protected]. Everything else: [email protected].
